After WLHS
received a BS in chemistry from Purdue. Next was awarded a PhD in organic
chemistry from SUNY at Buffalo. Went to work for Pennwalt Corp. Spent 7
years at a Pennwalt plant in "downriver" Detroit; then returned to
Philly. Pennwalt was acquired by the French oil company Elf Acquitaine in
1989 which was then acquired by Total. Working for a French company is an
interesting experience. Accepted an offer ( that I better not refuse ) to
retire in 2001. Since then I have kept busy with volunteer work-local
hospital, local middle school and English as a second language program.
I lost my dear wife Cindy, in '95, to a rare,
aggressive form of breast cancer. I now live alone with my cat shadow. |
