I have been a realtor in the Indianapolis area for 20 years.  My husband, John, became a realtor 15 years ago so we are a married realtor team with Coldwell Banker Kaiser in Carmel.

I have six children. Three by birth and three by adoption.  My youngest son (which I had in my middle 30's) was killed Sept. 21, 2007.  He was in the Indiana National Guard and was serving in Iraq.

He was several years younger than the other children and he was 32 when he was killed. He was married to a wonderful young lady who is like a daughter to us. They were blessed with two children, Abbey is 8 and Isaac is 6.  His death was very difficult for all of us to deal with and I know I will never be the same again.  You should never outlive your children.  I am grateful that all of my children are wonderful people.  Our 11 grandchildren are wonderful and my favorite job is "Nana"!

One of our granddaughters was born with spina bifida.  She has had 38 major surgeries and drives an electric wheelchair.  She will be 17 years old this month. She is very tiny for her age and loves music and clothes.  Her mother (our daughter) is an RN so we have Sarah about half of the time.  She has never been left with a sitter and always has her mother or us.   We love all of our grandchildren very much but I must say that Sarah is very special and our lives revolve around her.

My husband is my best friend. I am so grateful that we found each other 25 years ago.  It is great to have someone you love and who loves you to grow older with.  It is amazing to me how quickly the years have gone by.  I find it difficult at times to believe that I am 67 years old.  I don't feel that old so I just keep plugging along!
We certainly are not an exciting couple.  We are so close to the children and grandchildren and there are so many of them that our social life is with our family.  I can not think of anyone else that I would rather spend time with so it works out well for all of us.

John and I hope to come to the reunion this fall.  It should be fun to see all of you again.
