The Quinn clan sends their greetings to the class of ‘61. This past year was marked by the passing of my dear companion, Allen. We had a wonderful life together gathering children from all over the world. We adopted five children, two boys from Brazil (Matthew and Christopher), a little girl from the Philippines (Christine Noel), a chatty little girl from Guatemala (Elizabeth), and my husband’s namesake, Allen, who is from Honduras. Yes, we traveled to all countries to bring home the children, all of whom were infants. We spent the ensuing years rearing our children. Allen worked as a pharmacist for REVCO which became CVS. Prior to and during our marriage, I acquired five college degrees: a doctorate in Educational Administration and Supervision, a Master of Science degree in Guidance and Counseling, a Masters in Music Performance, a Bachelor of Music Performance, and a Bachelor of Music Education. I taught at the college level and served as department chair for twelve years. My duties included performing concerts throughout the country including performances as guest artist at the Washington National Cathedral; St Thomas Church, Fifth Av. Presbyterian Church, Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church, Trinity Church, and Grace Lutheran Church, all in New York City; and appearances as guest artist and lecturer at numerous colleges and universities including Vanderbilt University, Ball State University, University of Georgia, Athens, GA, and Mercer College in Macon, Ga. I also have two step daughters, Carla and JoNell, eight step grandchildren, and four step great-grandchildren. My youngest son, Allen II, just graduated from Halls High School and will be leaving to serve a two year mission for our church in August of this year. Soon after that, I too, will be leaving on a two year mission either working for the church educational system or in the genealogy department. Our assignments could be anywhere in the world and we are both looking forward to this new chapter in our lives.
