Hello Classmates! After finishing Purdue, I taught history and coached basketball at Boswell High School. Three years later I went back to Purdue and completed some construction technology courses while beginning work with my father in the construction business. Over the years, we built many buildings on the Purdue campus along with other schools, churches and industrial projects. It was a very challenging and exciting business. I can remember driving to work in the early 70's feeling that something was missing in my life. I had a good job and family, but I knew there had to be more than just living a good life and someday being buried. I started searching and became involved in a Way of Life class at Covenant Presbyterian Church. It was October, 1973, when I realized that God was missing in my life, and I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Since that time in 1973 I have fallen short of God's will for my life many times. However, I serve a God who is loving and forgiving when I confess those sinful times. God desires that none would perish, but that all would come to a saving knowledge of His Son, Jesus. It is so good to know that when I stand before God someday, I will have Jesus standing with me as my advocate. After 20 years in construction, I have been involved in real estate, church/school administration and transportation supervision. I am now driving wheelchair buses for the city transporting people with various physical and emotional challenges. I enjoy this work thoroughly and I have no plans to retire. My wife Anna and I have five children and nine grandchildren. I enjoy golfing, bowling and watching Purdue basketball and football. Blessings on all of you and your families! Phil Kemmer |
