WOW! 50 Years seems like it should be an eternity, but it went by so fast!  After graduating from WLHS, I spent a year at the Univ. of Arizona in Tucson and then transferred to Purdue for a year.  When my parents moved back to Chicago, I transferred to a small, service oriented college there named George Williams College, which is now part of Aurora University. I met my husband Richard there and we married in 1965 after I graduated with a BA in education. I have taught in Detroit, Michigan, Tokyo, Japan (for the DOD overseas school system), central and southern California and 32 years in the Chicago Public Schools.  I have taught everything from Prek through High School, Special Ed, College Computer Courses and Continuing Education for Teachers.  College is the easiest, teachers are the hardest, and PreK and Kindergarten are the most fun! I got my M. ed with a double major in curriculum and computers and spent most of my teaching devoted to computer lab and computer application courses.  My husband was a teacher also in both High School and Elementary Special Education.  Along the way we managed to have four beautiful children, seven gorgeous grandchildren, and stay happily married for forty years.

After retiring from CPS we moved to Central California, about forty minutes from Yosemite and built our dream house in the sierra foothills to be closer to our children and grandchildren.  Unfortunately, Richard was then diagnosed with a brain tumor (the same as Teddy Kennedy) and though he put up a good fight, he eventually lost the battle and passed away in 2005.  The doctors gave him 3 months, he made it 2 and 1/2 years.

My kids convinced me to move to Southern California where I now keep busy with occasional subbing, my grandchildren and volunteer work.  I teach sailing to Boys and Girls club members sponsored by the sheriffs department in Marina del Rey and my mixed terrier dog and I are a Therapy Dog Team that visits several hospitals and nursing homes in the L.A. area to bring wags and kisses to patients.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.
