Sandra and I married before I
joined the Air Force in 1962. We have three children; Steve, Teri Lyn
and Melinda, plus seven grandchildren. We moved to Louisville, KY after
my military years. If it weren't for the war going on at the time, I
would have made a career of the military. We enjoyed our four years.
I attended night classes while working full time and graduated from the University of Louisville in 1975. After 27 years of employment in the whiskey barrel production business for Brown Forman, we owned and operated two small businesses. I then went on to manage a warehouse for 10 years for a tool business, and retired in 2007. I have also retired my hobby of flying small airplanes, but enjoyed experiencing flying - something I always wanted to do. In the early 90s, I spent some time renovating a 100-year-old "shotgun" house in a popular old neighborhood. We then rented it for about 12 years. It has now been fixed up once again and sold. We now spend our spare time at Lake Cumberland at our "retirement" vacation lake house - a place for the whole family to enjoy. Two of our children and families live near us, and our youngest, Melinda, lives in Colorado with her husband two little boys. |
